1. Joining/Account Stuff

1.1 How much does HSH cost to play?

Nothing, a Basic account is free. However, you must pay to upgrade to a Premium account.

1.2 Can I change my login/player name?

Names can be changed, but you must contact a moderator or the administrator to do so. And names really should only be changed once, if you can't possibly bear your current name.

1.3 Can I change my stable name?

Yep, you stable names can be changed at anytime. But you should really look around before renaming your stable. I would hate to have a fight over a stable name between two players.

1.4 Why should I give my email to you? What will you do with it?

The only reason HSH will use your email is to send you your account information when you first sign up, and possibly to get in contact with you if need requires. We won't give your email to anyone else, and you will not receive spam from us.

1.5 How many accounts can I have?

As stated in our game rules, you are only allowed two accounts. You are given $100,000 starting money to begin, and it's really not necessary to have more than 2. This feature has had to become enforced by code because of people who have created 30+ accounts, and that just really ticks me off. I don't have time to deal with it, so the code does it for me. I am looking for an alternative though. I do know that there are people with siblings that also want to play the game. Stay tuned.

1.6 My account has been frozen/restricted! What did I do? 

You probably broke one of the rules or were making a nuisance of yourself in the chat and weren't paying any attention to a moderator's warning. At the moment, restrictions/freezings are permanent. Just follow the rules, be courteous to people, listen to the mods, and don't flood the boards/chat, and you'll be fine. It's not that hard, really. Just use your common sense. I'm sure you have some around there somewhere.

1.7 How do I change my email/password?

Go to your Home page and there will be a link at the bottom.

1.8 How do I give my money to someone?

For now, the easiest way is to buy a Transfer horse for the amount you want to give, and have the other player buy it. The problem with this is, the horse can be accidentally bought by a different player during the transaction. If a horse is accidentally bought, we are in no means at fault. Please do not complain about this, you’re the one taking the risk.

1.9 How do I get money?

By training or breeding horses, then selling them. You can also offer services like personalizing pictures, creating layouts, or show training. If a horse is accidentally bought during a show training transaction, we are in no way at fault. You can also train horses. A small prize is awarded to the winner of a show or race.

1.10 Can we delete our accounts?

No. People will make new accounts just to transfer money, and then delete the account.

1.11 I have a partner account and my partner stole horses and money. Can you do anything about it?

No. This may sound unfair and many people scream 'stealing is stealing'. But you gave that person your password. I created passwords to help you protect your stuff, by giving away that password you tell me that that person has your permision to use that account. And this includes taking things from it.

2. Horses

2.1 How do I buy a horse?

The most basic way to do this is to go to Horses --> Create a Horse, and then select the name/gender/breed/age of the horse you wish to purchase. The alternative way is to purchase a horse from another player. To find horses for sale/auction, go to Horses-->Buy, then select whether you would like to bid on a horse, or buy one.

2.2 How does my horse age?

Every 7 days from the birth or creation of your horse, it will age.

2.3 Will my horse ever die?

When they reach the age of 35 they will. But no worries. If you horse has made it to the top 10 when this happens, it will go to the Hall of Fame.

2.4 Will my horse ever loose the ability to show/breed/etc. because of age?

Not at the moment no.

2.5 What do I do with my horse?

You can feed it, show it, breed it, sell it, or keep it on your home page to look pretty.

2.6 How do I feed my horse?

Go to Shopping, and then click on Feed Store. Select the type of feed you would like to feed your horse, and which horse to feed.

2.7 Do I have to feed my horse?

Yes, if you want it to do well in the shows, and keep healthy.

2.8 How do I buy tack for my horse?

Go to Shopping, then click on Tack Store. Select the type of each piece of tack you would like to buy.

2.9 What does tack do?

For now, nothing.

2.10 How do I sell a horse?

Go to the horse’s page and type the price you would like to sell your horse for in the Sale Price box.

2.11 How do I auction my horse?

Go to Horses, then Buy, then Auction. Select the horse you would like to be put up for auction. When you go to your horse’s page, people can bid on it, you can delete (reject) or accept a bid. Accepting the bid sells the horse to that player for the amount they bid.

2.12 How do I breed my horse??

Go to a stallion (ungelded male horse)’s page, and there will be a stud fee. Click breed, and you will get a foal, and pay the stud fee. If you want to breed one of your mares to one of your stallions, go to Horses, then Breed, then select the mare and stallion.

2.13 How often can I breed my horse?

For now, you can breed both mares and stallions as much as you want to.

2.14 People are calling my horses overbred/unpure/inbred/linebred why?

Look in the dictionary for the definitions of all of the above.

2.15 How do I get points?

By entering shows or races. Your horse gets more points per show depending on how many horses it's competing against, and how many points it currently has.

2.16 Eww! That horse picture is ugly! How do I change it?

Go to your horse's page, click on the picture box, and enter in the URL to the picture you'd like to replace it with. Lots of people enjoy putting pictures of real life horses that they've owned onto their HSH horse's page.

2.17 How do I have my horse shod/examined?

Go to Horses, then click Farrier to have your horse shod. Click Vet to have your horse examined. Horses must be shod and examined weekly.

2.18 There are red bars on my horsespage...?

These bars represent how clean your horse and it's stall are. You want them to be green. To do this, you much muck out your horse's stall and groom it.

2.19 How do I muck and groom?

Go to Horses--->Muck or Horses--->Groom

2.20 What are those letters infront of my horses name?

The first letter if the level at which your horse shows, and the second is your horse's gender.

2.21 Value?

You really don't have to listen to this. I only put it there to stop people from messaging me asking how much thier horse is worth.

2.22 Recomended Studfee?

Like the "Value" you really don't have to listen to this. I just seemed logical to put it there.

3. Shows and Races

3.1 What are shows and races?

Shows and races are created automatically, at all different point varieties, to keep things fair. They are what get your horses points.

3.2 Will my horse still get points if it doesn't win?

Yes. The amount of points the horse receives is alot more, however, if it places high.

3.3 Is there a limit to the amount of shows and races your horse can enter?

No, but there are 500 shows and 500 races, which should be enough.

3.4 It's not letting me enter a show/race with my horse!

First, make sure your horse has been fed, shod, and vet. Then, if you are still having problems, message me [2466] with your horses number and I will fix it as soon as possible.

3.5 Can I create a show?

 No. Only Riding Group leaders can create shows, and these cost $100 to enter.

3.6 What type of show should I enter?

Does it make a difference? There are five types of shows to enter, Cross Country, Jumping, Dressage, Hunter, and Show. There is only one type of race. For now, it does not make a difference what you enter.

3.7 When do shows for the day run?

Well, they're supposed to run at 8 AM EST , but unfortunately, the script is so huge and there are so many shows to run, that they don't always run on time. Shows can sometimes run a few days late, please be patient with this.

4. Misc

4.1 How do I donate?

When you sign on, there are links to PayPal. If that doesn’t work for you, there is an address to send checks or money orders to. We are in no way responsible for any mail order that is not received.

4.2 What's a mod/moderator?

A moderator is one who has been placed in direct authority by me. They have the powers to warn, fine, freeze, and restrict an account, among other things. Listen to the mods, what they say goes, and I'll most always back them up.

4.3 How do you become a mod?

Because of the power they have, I choose my mods very carefully. You must apply to become a mod by sending me a message, listing the reasons why you should be granted this power and what skills you have that I might find useful.

4.4 What does [insert word here] mean?

If you are new to the game, or you are unsure of what soemthing means, refer to the Dictionary I've made. If the word or phrase you need isn't there, message me and I'll add it.

4.5 There aren't many things to do on this site, why?

HSH was just entered under new management, and there are many wrinkles to be smoothed out.. Stay tuned, and have patience!
